My only problem is a keg usually costs more than bottles for cider. I looked into building one when I had some extra monies out of a chest freezer. I could have gotten all the parts at my works cost but I never got around to doing it
I have Lincoln's old mini fridge I could turn into a cheaper smaller version I guess but I'd need an external temp regulator or something cause last time I used it, it just froze everything regardless of the setting it was on. I still have my mini fridge too but that's full of beer and is kinda nice to be cutting into.
Perlick seems to be the way to go. I like the look of the traditional better I think but they do get pretty dirty with the way they seal. Especially with the frequency of home use.
