My windows machine was an Asus Transformer, screen could come off the keyboard. I thought it'd be a nice way to show pictures to clients. I never once bothered to take the screen off when doing that.
It would likely become my plane movie machine, which are more functional when you aren't in clamshell mode. Email and this damn website are the things I'd want a keyboard for. This phone business is getting old.
