Try any of the Dreaming Tree wines (Dave Matthews' brand). My wife also likes all of the Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi wines. All of the above are like $9-13 a bottle.
Back when I was a raging alcoholic, I never drank bougie wine unless work was paying for it because wine is not hard liquor. I once dated a former Miss North Carolina runner up who was also an alcoholic and we went on a 2 Buck Chuck kick for a while. A case of wine for like $25 is the stuff that bad decisions are made of:
