Its not hard to live next to your job if you don't care about what job you have. I havent had a commute longer than 4 miles in 10 years.

At the end of the day you have to decide what's going to give you the best quality of life. My decisions have definitely impacted my career growth, but I dont regret giving myself a shorter commute and working fewer hours.
