The terms are interchangeable, a lot of BOVs can be purchased with a recirc kit, or at least you used to be able to. Regardless the function is still the same, just recirc vs not.

The stock plastic one can handle the same as the Metal EVO X BOV. Only reason to upgrade BOV is if you are running more boost than the OEM one can handle, which is doubtful on an off the shelf tune like you get from COBB. They peak at like 21psi, which is stock peak boost for an EVO. Stage 3 doesn't even mention a need for an BOV upgrade. Main reason people upgrade a BOV is to make cool woosh noises.

It's pretty quiet. Was actually kinda disappointed there was no audible woosh haha
