Boost rots the brain, kids, and if you let it go long enough you have terminal manifold failure. Apparently there's some kind of rot for having an affliction for German vehicles, too.
I picked up this 2013 135is from a dealer last weekend in Rhode Island and drove it home. Shitty photo, will have more later - color is carbon black (more like Navy), same as Jake's M3 drop top.

Car seems to be well cared for and the price was right.
Details on the "is" model sales brochure - <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.auto-brochures.com/makes/BMW/1%20Series/BMW_US%201SeriesCoupe_2013.pdf">http://www.auto-brochures.com/makes/BMW ... e_2013.pdf</a><!-- m -->
And the tl;dr
Its a fun little car, big motor, big brakes, short wheelbase. The motor is the big standout here, its not fussy at all for driving around at normal speeds, there's no big turbo hit, the powerband is really linear, and great throttle response. The extra displacement compared to most turbo motors is a big help here. Like most BMW's, highway cruising is stellar - drove it back in shit weather with 1 stop for gas and my back wasnt ruined when I got home.
First up for mods is a short shifter, the factory shifter is really vague, and I've been spoiled by the short shifter in my A4. I might also like to swap in the 1M/M3 control arms to get some extra camber & steering feel, which is a little vague. (DJ, are you paying attention... I need BMW Jesus). Oh, and a hitch for my bike rack. Maybe down the road some Koni FSD's, but, the factory shocks feel pretty damn good on this car.
