GT body kit adds a few hundred lbs of useless weight, the 351 will also add more weight up front than you would want for autox. For that weight you are better off going w/ a 429-460, they weight just about the same as the 351 but provide more power. Best bet would be to find a stripper lx (84-87) w/ a 5.0 that's been worked already, finding one with a stroked 5.0 would be ideal (~the same power as the 351 but weigh less), it would kick ass at the strip w/ a NX shot and still preform well at autox. $500 is way to much to spend on a USED nos kit for a carbed motor, all you need is a 5-10lb bottle and a nozzle, make the rest yourself. Ratshack can offer most of the switches and the RPM switch can be tapped off the ignition for cheap. My brother and cousin have built tons of mustangs with nothing more than lunch money.
