Guilty pleasures... you know you've got them!
On that feels note, I finally pulled the trigger on a tritium watch. I told myself I was going to "thin the herd" (ie sell an old one) any time I picked up a new watch going forward, but my brother said he and my mother would split this as my Christmas gift and I could "open" it when they get down here in December Smile I went ahead and grabbed it because Deep Blue is having a Cyber Monday sale on top of the current discounted price, including discounted shipping that made it a no brainer. I had such a great experience with the Air Blue watch I purchased and had been eyeing their other pieces for a while, so here are the details:

Deep Blue Daynight Diver T100 Automatic (green bezel! tons of other colors to choose from though) <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.deepbluewatches.com/daditaussgrd.html">http://www.deepbluewatches.com/daditaussgrd.html</a><!-- m -->
45mm, 300m water resistance, AR coated sapphire, screw down caseback and crown, same Seiko auto movement with date as my SKX007, ISOFRANE style rubber bracelet (I have heard it's super comfy but if it sucks I have a million other straps I can change it to) and T100 tritium tubes: 12 O'clock = 2 Yellow Tubes ,1-11 Hour Markers = Blue Tubes, Hour, Minute,Second Hand and Bezel Pip = Yellow Tubes.

Tritium lume has fascinated me and at this price point for T100 (brightest tritium I have seen on watches) you definitely can't go wrong. Basically tritium gas is encapsulated in small glass tubes with a phosphor layer and as the tritium decays it causes the phosphor to constantly glow. Similar technology to tritium night sights on firearms. The benefit is that it constantly glows day and night without needing to be charged by light....hugely beneficial for me with as much airplane travel as I do, or just for checking the time at night so I don't have to pull my phone out of my pocket. Tritium decays in about 20 years, ie stops glowing, and leaves a really nice yellowed patina in the tubes (a few old Rolex models had this and it gives the watch a lot of character). Here's more detail if you want to nerd out on it: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tritium_illumination">https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tritium_illumination</a><!-- m -->

Pics! I went with the green bezel variant because it's different than anything else I have and I think it looks sharp:

If you browse their site and see anything you like, use the email insider code "CYBER" for another 40% off of whatever the listed prices are and choose "Cyber Shipping" for another small shipping discount. That watch is normally just under $500 with shipping, I scooped it for just over $200 shipped. Smile
