We might be able to get a turbo (or two) from a salvage yard for cheep. How costly would it be to mate a turbo to an engine for which it was not specifically designed, if it's even possible?
If it's possible, and the cost not prohibitive, we could do something outrageous like use a turbo from a turbo-diesel semi. They're probably big, heavy, and inefficient, but if the price is right...
