But the "what's the point in wearing a watch my phone does the same thing better" - and maybe you're not saying that - is just tired and tone deaf. It's akin to asking us why we drive and covet some of the anachronistic cars we do. Because because. We like them. Need another reason? Maybe barking up the wrong tree.

nah, it's not the phone bit. i get that they're a fashion accessory, but can a $100 watch not do the things or look the part of a $1000 watch? what do i not know to look for other than a label or some parts inside that might seep it accurate for 1000 years at 400 million meters and also charge on eli manning's wrist?
