Now the goal posts are moving - you mentioned balance, not price. That said, they were both in the $20s new. Granted the 944 was 1980s money, but that means they were actually cheaper than the ITR when the ITR was being sold.
Back then it was the pinnacle of fanboi dreams. Today it's not much more than nostalgia for the same group of people.
