The PS4.5 is basically just a refresh, they just added 4K compatibility. The PS4 Neo is the one where they are doubling the GPU and changing the RAM to one about 25% faster. It's a nice upgrade for sure, but i don't think it's going to be enough to do VR well. Anyone who does some research will probably come to the same conclusion and wait for the Xbox Scorpio and its 6 Teraflop WhateverAMDdesigned GPU so that it can do VR, and do it well. Which is why i think Sony pulled a Dreamcast here. They may be first, but they may not be doing it well enough for anyone to justify not waiting.
Who knows though, going to be interesting to see it play out.
