Alright so I've been driving this Cherokee for 2 weeks now. It's a 2.4L Limited, 2016 I believe, with 11,400 miles. First off, who the fuck decided this anemic 2.4L was acceptable? No torque at all, no low end power. Nothing. I'm driving this thing with the pedal buried in the carpet everywhere and I'm not ever breaking the speed limit. The transmission is garbage. Already slipping at 11k miles. When you shift from R to D the backup camera stays on for a good 30 seconds which is insanely trippy to see as you drive off.
The suspension is a joke. What platform is this thing built on? It WALLOWS on every turn no matter how slow you are going. Turning right at 20mph? Feels like you're going to roll the sum bitch. I did drive it over a curb so it does baby CUV things ok.
The interior is meh. Heated pleather seats/steering wheel. The seats have no bolster and were killing me after a 1.5 hr drive to Canada. It's got a giant touch screen infotainment thing but no nav. The steering wheel control buttons feel like they came off a children's toy. It has decent legroom in the back for adults - we had 4 grown men riding around everyday.
Overall this is a great example of the shit quality that is Chrysler Fiat. I am so glad we passed on the grand Cherokee when shopping for the cx5. I know this is a rental but only 11k miles on it and this thing is falling apart. Maybe Jeff can tell us who in their right mind would buy this anemic front wheel drive turd.
