I haven't read the other pages of replies. I'll share this:
I have a 16" wood deck trailer build on a very good steel frame. I like it due to its versatility. I built 3.5' removable wooden sides for it and get a TON of utility from that. Mulch, fallen trees and other yard debris, etc.
I pressure wash and treat it every 2 years and the wood looks great. The trailer is 14 years old.
