We tried that many years ago. People hate pre-paying for autocross. They like to pre-reg for free and get on a waiting list and all show up to get spots. The best thing you can do is like it was done this past time - expect 80+ cars and get 60+ to actually show up. Otherwise you'll only convince like 30 people to pre-pay, and you may be left with a less-than-full event. IMHO of course... and hopefully times have changed.
