So its been almost exactly a year since I picked this thing up. I also crossed over 10,000 miles on my way down to the show Saturday morning so I guess it's old now, at least by VW standards.
I really haven't been horribly anal about this thing considering the fact it's my first new car. As much as I'd like to I just use the thing too hard to keep it looking showroom fresh. It carts the dog around at least once a week, and usually ends up hauling random crap around with the seats folded down on the weekends, so last weekend I gave it it's first annual detail.
Started with a regular wash, then went around it and hit a few spots with a clay bar, then fired up my buffer and just did a single pass with Meguiars compound and a light cut pad, followed by two coats of sealant. I also bought a touch up pen to fill in a few of the small chips its picked up, and to have one handy for future wounds.

Inside I vacuumed up a metric fuckton of golden retriever fur, wiped down all hard surfaces with a gentle degreaser solution. Then "treated" it with that Mother's VLR stuff, not sure if it's actually doing anything but it smells good. For the leather I used Sonax leather foam and a horsehair brush, which really helped loosen up the crusted-on dog slobber and snot. Would recommend.

I also have a new friend parking near me lately at work. I wonder if he wants to trade for a weekend.

And this was entirely too satisfying.

It's officially due for its second oil change and tire rotation. Gonna order a kit and knock it out this weekend.
