Could you hack up the trunk lid to make it open differently? I'm thinking the back panel could flop down like a Mini Cooper convertible, which would allow access without unbolting the wing. And then if you did have to open things up more, you'd be able to unbolt the wing and raise the top part of the trunk lid separately.
