Change the fluid, first. I have been using Motul Motylgear for the past 6 months or so in my Audi, and it's helped the shifting, especially when cold. They have an issue where the 1-2 blocker ring is really 'tight' on the input shaft until things start to warm up. I have no desire to rebuild this fucking transmission so I've tried a few different fluids.
