In light of the 3rd gear grind, a long winter break, and “moving up” the ladder fairly quickly… I need to take a serious look at Time Trails.
The Basics:
TTF* Base class (* = 7 points)
2625lbs minimum weight
Tires:
A6. +2 (120-200TW tires)
A10. -1 (base class allows 215s, I’ll be running 205s)
Engine:
C4. +1 (Intake)
C22. +5 (full exhaust, headers/cat)
Drivetrain:
D5. +3 (LSD, I don’t have it but I might as get one right?!?!)
Suspension:
E3. +3 (Konis)
E5. +2 (Ground Controls)
E7. +2 (ITR Sway Bar)
E9. +4 (alignment arms, front/rear)
Brakes/Chassis:
F1. +2 (ITR Brakes)
F4. +3 (Subframe Brace, required for sway bars)
This would make me a TTE car which is a very popular class. The total is 33 points. I have 6 points to spend. I have two directions of thought…
1. Move up to A7. Tires… UTQG rating of +40… Maxxis RC-1, Nitto NT01, Toyo R888, RA-1, etc.
2. Add E3. ECU to squeeze out the HP and D3. Which will allow me to change the transmission completely… ITR/GSR/Hybrid
6 points of weight reduction is 95lbs… good but I think it could be better spent elsewhere. Option 2 would be the most expensive off the bat and set me up for H2. Option 1 would be the more expensive over the life of a season and doesnt move me toward any class.
