Glad to see you out there Cabell. Seems like just one hit of the go fast crack pipe has gotten you hooked :thumbup: . For your first time out in a car you didn't know you sounded like you were doing well and having a lot of fun. That's all that really counts. You'll pick up everything over time. It's a lot of sensory overload but you just get used to it over time.
Some things I focused on my first times that seems like you were picking up on is situational awareness and paying attention to mirrors/flag stations. There is nothing more important than that your first times out there, tbh. It helped me feel more comfortable out on track quicker so I could focus on other things. At least in my opinion this is what I believe helps most but everyone is different. Just do what feels right like you were saying :thumbup:
