there's an age limit on the car you can have. you can make more if you're willing to work nights/weekends.
from what i understand its not at all a bad way to make money but you've got to hustle and know when/where to plant yourself at locations so that you're ready for a fare and can get decent ratings which equal more calls and business. so, you need to budget time to basically just sit around and wait vs. just taking off from your driveway when you want. i assume hauling drunk people around would also be an awesome way to become familiar with the best brands of disposable gloves and using carpet shampoo.
i think anything that does great in town (hybrid) would be the way to go considering how fast fuel mileage can eat into your profits, and obviously appliance status for the reliability and cheap buy-in
