all cases, all years, 5 or 6 speed... part number 17100... anywhere from $198 to $498 lol. thats no fun at all.

Yeah it's pretty dumb. A lot of stuff is similar, but different.

Also, is it really only +14 to boost a car? +5 forced induction vehicle, +2 upgraded fuel injectors, +7 aftermarket intercooler,

No, wrong
"All of these cars MUST be assessed by the National TT Director for re-classification into a new TT Base Class!
Motor Swap, Aftermarket Forced Induction, Modified Turbo/Supercharger, Aftermarket Head(s), Increased Number of Camshafts, Hybrid
Engine, Ported Rotary motors, others (see TT Rules sections 8.3.C, 8.4, and 9)
(e-mail the below information to the National TT Director at greg@nasa-tt.com to receive your new TT Base Class)"

Yours fall under Aftermarket Forced Induction which means that you would have to get a new "base reclass" depending on your power to weight, and the type of car. Those minimums you think you can do? (ie 14.25), most likely will NOT get a reclass of 14.25, instead will be more between 14.25-17 or whatever the next lowest class is. That is because it depends on the vehicle. Where a stick axle mustang will be "base classed at 14.25 power to weight since its handling would be worse, a Mazda 3 would end up with a "lets say" 15 power to weight because it handles better.
