Yeh, even if the car eats a mechatronics unit (the hydraulic actuator that does the shifting) VW will put a new one in and possibly extend the warranty on the trans like my MKV had. Not terribly concerned.
I almost secretly kinda want something to break on the car, just so I feel like I'm getting my value out of the whole "purchasing a rapidly depreciating new car" thing. It is a first model year German car, built in Mexico, and brimming with fussy electronics, so I'm sure I won't have to wait too long...
