I mean i know people do it and when i worked in the bodyshop, i learned to spray with hvlp guns. I think i could use either and get good results after a bit of practice. Its mainly the cost saving, the gravity feed, the abilty to get cheap parts(like disposable paint cups), the fact that ill have more control over the psi, a smaller hose to drag around with more range( dyc sprayer is 20ft), and not relying on a small electric turbine provinding constant air are some of the reasons im going to test the cheap harbor freight gun.
