Pulled the trigger. Ordered some summer tires.
Went with Hankook rs-3s since I've had two sets before and liked how they handled. Really wanted some 225s, but no where had them, so I had to suck it up and get 215s. I've heard of people sticking a 235 of a 7" wheel, but I didn't want to push my luck since I have the absolute worst luck when it comes to things. :vomit:
I was looking at other tires as well (rivals, star specs, r1r), both 215 and 225, but it really came down to cost justification: $120/tire or $160-70 ? Not only that, but would the extra 10mm (relative to manufacturer, here) be worth the extra cost? What would really be faster?...So I just got the cheapest option that I know works.
Really would like some 17x9 wheels, but I just have different priorities and I don't need them right now. These tires were a good compromise to hold me for I don't know how long... But since I still have all seasons with good tread, these won't wear down after 6 months of use, which further justified my purchasing the tires, haha.
