Just for example, leasing a Genesis Coupe or a 228i for 36 months costs $309 per month. But the Genesis Coupe is a $26000 car while the 228 is a $37000 car. And you get free maintenance for 4 years/50k miles with the BMW.
Shift that BMW lease rate up by a hundred dollars or so and BMW would be selling so few cars here that it might not even be worth it for them to sell cars in the USDM anymore.
