A buddy of mine is a ford mechanic across the state line in WV and he has been steering me away from the 97-03s... thats why they havent been an option. something about thin frames. Either way i've been looking to find clean Carolina trucks. I really wont be towing more than 3-4 times a year and i dont need to hit highway speeds to get where i need to go... and the I6 is a better option than the 302 IMHO.
I debated diesels for a long time. and i might still end up with one... BUT clean, under 200k mile 7.3s (turbo or not) are pulling big $$$ because of the 6.0 flop AND the new cow piss diesels.
