It must take some serious skill to design a product bad enough to ruin a wet clutch in 30k miles. Typically transmissions that use a wet clutch design almost never need replacements of the actual clutch, its making the hydraulic actuation units reliable that has stumped the idiots at BMW and VAG for the past 15 years. Some of the DSGs have well over 200k miles without significant wear on the clutches because they spend far less time slipping than a traditional manual and have two friction discs to share the work load with.
