Well, now that you bought that chest protector it might nott matter but don't buy a cotton jersey. Synthetic is superior and you definitely wanna feel like you're not wearing any shirt in the woods for 2 hours. Vintage guys are crazy about cotton jerseys but they are so much hotter.
Also, I prefer the full goggle tear offs to the string kind. I have both. I stack the full goggle tear offs around 8 deep and use them wisely and it's plenty for a full race even after a good rain.
