You genius man. You just figured out the fundamental issue.
They have no interest. Why? Because they have no exposure. I know for me, since I was little I've been surrounded by cars. My dad, mom, aunt, cousin and uncle are all car enthusiasts. Growing up I've been around stickshifts, Evo's, sti's, BMW's, car magazines, garages etc. I've felt the awesomeness of a turbo and supercharger. I've felt the power. If I didn't turn out loving cars something had to be wrong. Majority of other youth didn't have that. They just had Suburban's and Volvo's loft them from the mall to the movie theater. They literally don't know the amazingness of having your head thrown back. This is what we must change. We must ignite the spark in them. Expose them to the power. We need to put them in a sports car [passenger and driver seat]. They must know what it's like to have all that power at your hands and feet. They need to crave being on a track, crave racing, crave uniqueness, crave the knowledge and the know-how, crave OWNING. It's our duty to save the automotive industry - from the dealerships to the aftermarket products to the tool shops to the garages to the 80yr old man tryna pass his old e36 onto its next caretaker. Once we invigorate my peers with that initial adrenaline rush, we've accomplished our mission. We've made cars cool again!
