Yeah I could get an engine tune with no warranty worries since mine is almost up anyway, I meant the DSG tune that makes it shift more aggressively. Since the warranty is an extended special case I have a feeling they'd void it for any reason they could, and I don't see the value in spending $450 for harder shifts anyway, its shifts ridiculously fast in stock form anyway. Like faster than you can blink.

Sweet another GTI! It looks like its in great shape too. Since you're at about 60k, I would consider looking into getting the updated timing chain tensioner. There have been a few go at ~60k, and when they do... kiss your engine goodbye. And its not just 09-10s, theres a TSB out for all '08 - '13 2.0T.

The updated tensioner is definitely on my radar. I think I'll bring the VIN to the dealer and see if its been done. I thought I had a little chain slap at startup, but I'm pretty sure that was the vanity cover rattling against the motor. I've looked up the symptoms and mine doesn't have any of them. Still I'll run the VIN and if it hasn't been done I'll start planning to do it myself, I found a $250 kit with all the stuff you need, and it doesn't look like too bad of a project. I could knock it out at some point this summer.
