I think the JSF gets a lot of bad press because on paper its worse, but it was supposed to be.The F35 was designed to be a strike fighter platform, like the F-16 or F/A-18. The F-22's mission is air superiority, so it being faster, stealthier, and having more AA missiles is by design. The problem is that the F-35 is not shaping up to be as good a strike aircraft as it should have been.
