they grafted styling elements from the full sized car onto a smaller package and it screws the proportions up.

they're going for the same optical effect as BMW did with the 1 Series...use giant-ass disproportionate headlights, and in this case a gaping catfish grille, which is apparently supposed to shrink the overall size of the rest of the car. i'm in agreement that it looks way off. "idiots walking into traffic" pedestrian safety laws for hood height aren't making the front ends of cars any better these days either.
