Was talking just yesterday with one of our HOA's officers. They are getting ready to sue another homeowner over some dumbass metal building he put in his backyard for his mowers and stuff. He won't make it match the house so they are taking his ass to court. Fuck HOA's.

If you hate your HOA then join the board and be part of the solution.

It rustles the shit out of me when people complain about HOA's. I used to think that they were stupid, but now that I own a house I appreciate that my neighbors cant paint their house pink or turn their front lawn into a junkyard. I've been lucky though, mine is cheap and not intrusive. I'd probably have a different opinion if they were full of busy body assholes.

Un-rustle yourself. I ran for my HOA board and did not get elected. Mostly because I am not over 65. I will run again next time there is an opening. Mine is certainly cheap at $50/year but we get NO services for that money. Its just a bunch of busy body assholes as you put it fucking with others for a power trip. I certainly get the point and it is nice that the neighbors are kept in check for stupid shit but I have had one serious run in with them. Long story short I got the "you young people are the problem, this was supposed to be a retirement community." It was on from there. There are 23 rentals in the community of (I think) 115 lots.
