Yep. This is the exact reason BMW changed the nomeclature of their coupes to be the "4" series, even though its just a fluffed up 3 series with 2 doors. I can only imagine the conversations in the BMW Product Development division went something like this.
2010: LOL, did you guys see what Audi did? They actually think people are dump enough to pay $10k more for a car if you take off a couple doors and call it something different.

For what its worth, Mike D'amico has a 2012 A4 and seems like he's been pretty happy with it so far. One of my co-workers just replaced her B6 A4 'vert with a 2013 A4 sedan and loves it. Apparently they are a rolling wifi hotspot. Not sure why, or how, but she thinks its the coolest shit since sliced bread.
