Ah ok good question. Well, I think I'll start off by saying that everyone makes mistakes. It's well known that this past semester one of our officers had their license taken away for quite some time, and so awkward situations do present themselves.

My first response is that we should have a one semester membership requirement before any new member is issued decals/shirts. This semester must also consist of the member attending a good part of the social and or track events. This raises the question...how many events? Well, there may be some room in this club for a "points" system (tacky as it is...). We can issue members certain point values for the events they help participate in, and or attend. The points system will also help settle disputes such as who works at the ONE open VIR working spot, who goes karting (if god willing all the spots are almost filled one day).

In terms of when someone LOSES membership...thats a whole other story. This is something that both Dan, and the club will have to decide together. I'm not quite sure we should have a strict policy for what constitutes that someone need be shunned, as there are ALWAYS exceptions and people aren't perfect. The members of MM aren't idiots, if we recognize that someone doesn't belong in our club, it will be taken care of immediately. The only requirement I ask Dan (if elected) to uphold will be to strip the previous member of the decal/shirt. I know it sounds childish, but the last thing we need is an "asshat" giving the club a bad name.

Did this answer your question? I'm sorry to dance around the question like a politician, but I feel that this decision is one that the club as a whole should make, and not be left up to one person.
