The Fuel Pump issue is what drove me away, but the N54 shares a lot of design qualities with the diesel, and cast-iron liners are always nice in a turbocharged aluminum block. I see no reason (vice, say, the Nikasil issue) that as long as your HPFP is healthy that these cars won't last a very long time. 150K miles ought to be easily doable.
