That said, if you're not thinking in the back of your mind about the chance to do higher level racing then the decision to race SM just comes down to whether or not you'd have fun. The running costs for SM are low, the competition is fierce, only major downside is that the car is much slower than what you run now.

Unfortunately, I just dont think I have what it takes to go much higher. My driving will take another 2-3 years in racing to get to a reasonable level, and tons of coaching.

Yes, running costs for SM are low, but will I ever win? probably not :lol: Bigger fish in smaller pool is better than small fish in big pool.

If you're a big fish in a small pond you won't improve as quickly. When you have to do battle with people who are as fast and faster than you it will force you to turn your A game into A+ game. Caveat is that if you have to fight very hard to do well, maybe it'll take some (or all) of the fun out of it for you. Upside is that if fighting tooth and nail in SM isn't much fun, you can always sell the car and not lose your ass in resale value since demand for SM's is solid.

You're fast enough that you won't get embarrassed in SM. You'll have to drive your ass off to hang with the big dogs in SM, but then the victory will be all the more sweet.
