I traded a guy a rifle for a set of wheels once and he was in Washington state. Its been a loooooong time, but if I remember right I put it in its hard case, got a big cardboard box the case would fit in, wrapped it all up and did a little special paperwork at the UPS drop off location. I may have had to ship it to the guy's local gun dealer, can't really remember. I don't see why you couldn't UPS it to yourself if you're moving though.
