Hyperdrives are exactly what you want to do, to "Learn how to properly drive the courses". No balls to the wall driving, simply hop in the car, strap on a helmet, and an instructor rides with you giving you pointers for 1, 20-25 minute session.

Your not just let out on course and smacked on the ass, then told to "go get em".

For $50, you cant really get any better instruction for cheaper, aside from an AutoX.

Truth. Nobody wins the hyperdrive Hyperdrives lead to HPDE which stands for High Performance Driver Education. Yes, there's a checkered flag but it just means your session is over...

It's the best way to learn. One classroom session and one track session to get your feet wet. And I'd say it's almost better than an autocross for constant learning opportunities, because things come at you a bit slower, and you have the ability to process what you did well and not-as-well lap to lap with your instructor (OK, turn 3 was bad because of X, let's try this next time around). You have an earpiece and mic so you two can talk the entire time. I was nervous going out for my first (in a friend's car, even) but had constant chatter in my right ear to talk me through everything if I needed it.

Also - HPDE 4 is the instructor group. MM has some alums who instruct (and the non-MMers are really friendly too) and if there is a DE4 group driving before your hyperdrive, you can get a ride with someone so you see the track at speed before you go out.

And +1 to Rexy's question... I managed to pull a small loan from the Bank Of Dad to get the Miata, and paid it off relatively quickly. It was $5300 and I overpaid. Whoops, live and learn. We aren't calling you in particular out here, but I'm genuinely curious as several newbs have some pretty sweet (newish) rides. Some dealer out there offering 0% for 8679325 months?
