Does anyone know how this works renting/borrowing a trailer from my insurance point of view? Kind of a sticky situation I guess - I am renting a trailer, and borrowing dads truck to haul it.
I always was under the impression that vehicles that are insured are insured no matter the driver. I THINK liability for any damage caused by the actual trailer itself would be covered from my/my dads insurance, so I assume the guy saying "Rates Include Insurance" means that it covers the damage to the trailer itself, right?
Insurance companies treat your trailer as part of your liability insurance under your "tow vehicle". However, it will not cover comprehensive. You would have to get insurance for that.
