Compared to most anything made in the last 10 years, mini-vans and econoboxes included, it is inferior in every way. Well, every way expect for home-garage mechanic serviceability I guess. But I bet our Element could beat it in an autocross or drag race.
It does however deserve some bragging rights as being one of the first very successful small sports sedans and laying the groundwork for the, you know.... *somewhat* popular 3-series you may have heard of. From my old-BMW-fanboi standpoint it was just something to try. It's a very affordable, well supported vintage car with lots of parts and knowledge available, and it when I see the only other one in town I ever see, I can give a big goofy, enthusiastic wave and thumbs-up! :thumbup:
