that's my point. in a safe, it's not much good to you. an intruder could be on your before you know it. "hold please, kind sir who is jacking me of my possessions, i have something in my safe for you. thank you for your patience while i retrieve it" isn't going to happen.
i understand that a laser/strobe/thingy enhances your ability to defend yourself, but my point is that you're not going to have a chance to do so.
