We don't even make the playoffs for 3 fucking seasons straight, and now everyone is calling for the head of the guy who took us there 4 years in a row. (Which, by the way, hasn't happened since the 90's) Complete bullshit. Let's not pretend that Tampa Bay is some podunk pond hockey team either.
We were outplayed. I don't know if it was cockiness or injury or what, but the Stamkos/Lecavalier/St. Louis was like a bunch of psychics. Our Alex/Alex/Niklas combo did precisely dick for us, and despite their goalie giving up HUGE rebounds, Knuble & Co were nowhere to be found near the puck. The Capitals did NOT play the same hockey they played against the Rangers, while Tampa Bay played probably the best hockey they've played all season. We didn't score first, didn't maintain momentum, and yes, our goaltender is 23 years old, and he plays like it. He'll get better, but who would you rather see?
I swear, I hear nothing but this crap from Caps fans. 'Fire Bruce, fire Green, fire Neuvirth, fire Semin'. Let's just fire the whole team and start over, because that worked awesome in 2002 when we bought a bunch of talent and won the Sta...lost to the Lightning in the first round.
Tampa Bay just wanted it worse than we did, simple as that. It's the team's fault as a whole, I don't believe there was one single element you can point to and say 'here is where we sucked, if we fixed that we'd have won'.
