Ironically the only traffic I got stuck in going down 85 was right across the border in SC. Damn accident and then they were repaving the road going southbound. People driving in the rain here are just as bad as in Charlotte.
I will say that any questions I had about buying the Passport 9500ix over the Redline or the V1 are completely null and void when the GPS database picked up its first red light camera. What a damn handy feature. We don't have those in Charlotte and I'm not in the habit of running red lights...but this is IMO one of the best situational awareness RDs that's out there right now. An added benefit is the GPS false signal lockout feature which makes driving through urban areas bearable.
