So, the Gravel Express was having a tick of trouble turning over on cold mornings. Not knowing when the battery was purchased I decided to get a new one, and Dave D. was selling Optima batteries for 99 dollars for a charity. I don't even remember what charity it was, but as far as I am concerned it was the "Rex Needs a Bitchin New Battery Charity". So that's installed, no more cranky cranking.
I also finally shelled out the money to pick up my RS Six Spokes. They look like this:

Only in a horrible "textured bronze" that only Aquacow would think was a good idea. When the Spring Thaw arrives I'll be setting out to strip, prime, paint. What do you guys think for color? I was thinking a dark dark bronze or maybe gunmetal or something. Dunno.
Anyway, I love the way the six spokes look, and they're 7 inches wide as opposed to the 6.5" that the WRX wheels are. Since I won't be going any larger on the front brake rotor diameter in the foreseeable future, I saw no reason to go for a larger diameter wheel, and I'm pretty sure I can easily stuff 225's on 7" wide wheels...any wider than 225's and I'd probably rub on stuff with my non-flared wagon fenders.
Also, my CEL seems to have left me alone for the past two tanks of gas...and it's been a lot colder than it was when I first got the CEL, so I'm really thinking it was the 7-11 gas. Disappointing, but what are you gonna do? :dunno:
I also bought a new WRX wheel from John Chapin to replace my rashed up one. Next year, these will be my snow set, because fuck you haters. :bootyshake:
Coming up soon (maybe in late February), Rex Installs His H6 Rears (Finally!)
