My Subie was very finicky when the gas stations switched over to their winter blends...on my old WRX (not the STi) it was so bad on one tank that my car basically went into limp mode. It would surge really bad. That was when I started to learn the difference between "The Lowest Price" gas at the corner of 15 and 704 and top tier gas stations. So yeah, maybe run that tank out and add in some Shell or equivalent and reset your ECU.
I did *just* fill it up at 7-11....
