Sweet! I'll take those roundels, thanks in advance
I know its a PITA but a new heater core too, just in case.
any suggestions for places I should look for expansion tank wise?
Everyone here (including me) has been saying "heater core, heater core" but you need to find where the coolant is actually leaking from - there is a strong chance that the coolant is simply leaking somewhere under the hood, and you smell it leaking from there. Even a leak at the front of the engine bay can smell pretty strong when you turn the heat on. Find out where it is leaking from, and if you can't find anything and are 99% positive it is the heater core, bypass the core and see if the smell goes away.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.
