I'm not going to hate on you about building up your car, as it's already been said at this point and I can relate to having a soft spot for a particular car. Personally, I also don't think you should hate on FWD so much either; a properly sorted out FWD can and will run circles around a RWD that was thrown together without a plan.
The one thing that I will absolutely tell you though, is to autoX/track your car as it sits today before you dump $$ into making it fast. Even being "slow", that car has limits on track that are far greater than your own. You need to learn those limits now before you start throwing more parts at it, so that you can appreciate and have a better understanding of how any additions affect the car.
