I'm not talking maintenance cost, but cost to title/register/tag. That was an additional $125 on the E30 and tax was almost nothing because I paid almost nothing. That's $125 that I didn't invest "in" the car but had to spend regardless. If I sold it for a different E30, I may break even on the two cars but would lose the registration money between the two, regardless.
